Endhiran (Robot) directed by Shankar has finished shoot on the 7th July with the shooting of the song sing by Rahman, choreograph by Remo at Sun TV Studio sand, in the meantime, there is a violent bidding war going on between a Mumbai-based audio Well known and a Chennai-based company for the audio privileges of the film. The grapevine has it that the audio of Robot has been snapped up for a record price, somewhere in the Rs Seven to Rs Eight crores collection. This is the uppermost ever paid for an audio in south Indian film record, a price almost on par with recent Bolly-wood music acquisition.
A music production tracker said, “The price that the market is talking about is a new standard in south Indian films’ audio market. The music of Sivaji, the previous Rajinikanth-Shankar-Rahman combo film, was marketed by the producers themselves and so, we do not have an exact rate for it. Raavanan was purchased for more or less Rs 2 crores. It’s phenomenal that the rights of Robot go for more than 3 times that cost.”
