India v New Zealand, 5th ODI in Chennai - Review

The Match will be a Day&Night match, And start from 2.30 pm IST or 0900
hours GMT.

Venue:While the Mac Chidambaram stadium in Chennai - also call the Chepauk -
has been one of the better stadiums in India, the one main source of worry
for the teams playing here has for all time been the rains. According to
weather expert, rain will play a part in the game but it remainder to be
seen whether the game will get underway.

Rather unexpectedly no ODI has been played here from the time when 2007 when
the last 2 matches between Asia XI and Africa XI - which were accorded the
status of ODI for unplumbed reasons. Off the 3 matches played here before
these two, India lost one and the other two were abandoned.

The Teams: It does not look like whichever team will want to change the
teams but that will be for unusual reasons.

India would like to allow the players like Yusuf Pathan and Saurabh Tiwary
more probability down the order to stake a claim for the World Cup team
while New Zealand will know that agreed they could win the game and that
India got out of the jail, it will not do them well to change possessions
around.

Parthiv Patel also done very good job opening for the part in his first game
in six years, at the same time as Rohit Sharma also had a good comeback.
unluckily for him, his problems with attentiveness failed him again as he
was dismiss in his 40s

It was the bowling which could have been some kind of a concern for the side
given that it was the first time in the series that the Indian bowling was
attack and they lifeless. One of Zaheer Khan or Ashish Nehra may be afford a
break and Vinay Kumar may come into the side.

For New Zealand, it was a good show for approximately 90% of the game before
a freak of an innings took the game away. They will want to let another
chance to the team players, even if, Jamie How needs to start prove his
worth to the team soon.

Players to give the impression of being:

James Franklin has played two superb innings in the series. In fact, had it
not been for Yusuf Pathan's blitzkrieg, Franklin's unbeaten 98 in the fourth
ODI would have been the focal point of attention. It will be fascinating to
see if he can maintain to play in the way he did. India will look to their
bowlers - Zaheer Khan & Praveen Kumar - to see if they can get impressive
exposed of the game.
